Mumbai, June 23, 2020: The construction arm of L&T has secured orders from prestigiousclients for its varied businesses.
Transportation Infrastructure Business:
The Transportation Infrastructure business has secured an EPC contract to constructPackages 11 and 22 of the Delhi Vadodara Expressway, which when completed will be thecountry’s longest expressway of National Highways Authority of India under its flagshipBharat Mala program. The scope of work broadly includes 8 lane greenfield expressway of36 Kms with perpetual pavement, service/slip roads, interchanges, ROB, major/minorbridges, vehicular/pedestrian/cattle underpasses and animal underpasses/overpasses.The business has secured another EPC contract from the Public Works (Roads) Directorate,Government of West Bengal for the reconstruction of 4 lane Tallah ROB (Hemanta Setu)adjacent to Tallah Railway Station on Barrackpore Trunk Road, Kolkata, West Bengal. Thescope of work includes the reconstruction of 4 lane Tallah ROB and viaduct connecting bothends Shyam Bazar & Dunlop, including Chitpur Ramp.
Water & Effluent Treatment Business:
The Water & Effluent Treatment business of L&T Construction has secured engineering,procurement and construction orders from State Water & Sanitation Mission, Uttar Pradesh,to implement water supply schemes for Shivhar and Parasi group of villages in Mahoba andSonbadhra districts respectively.
The aggregate scope of the two projects includes design & construction of three intakestructures, three water treatment plants of capacity 64 MLD, 1171 Km of transmission anddistribution pipelines, 20 clear water reservoirs, 37 overhead service reservoirs, 20pumphouses, 73600 house service connections, associated electromechanical &instrumentation works. The project also involves automation including measurement ofinput & output water quantity and quality through suitable SCADA & other instrumentationworks.
The projects are designed to cater safe & potable drinking water to 3.78 lakh ruralpopulation in the aforesaid districts of UP. These are part of a larger programme of theState Government to provide piped drinking water to every rural household.
